Psoriatic Arthritis Treatment in Ayurveda
Ayurvedic management for autoimmune arthritis associated with psoriasis, focusing on inflammation control, toxin elimination, and long-term disease management.
What is Psoriatic Arthritis?
Psoriatic Arthritis is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory condition associated with psoriasis. The immune system attacks the body’s own tissues, affecting skin, scalp, palms, soles, nails, and joints.
Joint involvement causes pain, stiffness, swelling, and redness. If left untreated, it may lead to permanent joint damage.
Common Symptoms
- Joint pain, swelling, and stiffness
- Redness and warmth over affected joints
- Skin lesions and nail changes
- Fatigue and reduced mobility
- Progressive joint damage if untreated
Psoriatic Arthritis in Ayurveda
In Ayurveda, Psoriatic Arthritis can be correlated with Vatha Raktha.
Vitiation of Vatha Dosha and Raktha Dhathu, along with accumulation of Kleda, leads to joint inflammation, pain, and skin manifestations.

Expected Results & Prognosis
Psoriatic Arthritis cannot be completely cured as it is an autoimmune condition. However, Ayurvedic treatment can effectively control symptoms and prevent joint damage.
Stress is a major triggering factor and must be addressed through counselling and lifestyle modification. With regular treatment and avoidance of triggers, disease progression can be controlled and quality of life significantly improved.
